Jo Ann Hanna

After a successful 50 year career in the women's fashion world, Hanna turned her talents to painting landscapes. To this end she has an active commitment to the threatened California wild lands.

Having studied at Gale Lawrence Studios in San Francisco, she is well versed in drawing and the use of color. During this time she created classic faux, Chinoiserie and gliding in the Isabelle O'Neal tradition. In the early 90's she moved to on painting in watercolor and plein air oil on canvas.

in addition to landscapes and garden scenes, she paints chickens, pastoral farm animal in fields and flowers from her garden. Her favorite plein air landscapes are done in California, Montana near her family home and in Italy. Hanna studies with Albert Handell of Santa Fe, Pam Glover and Van Waldron in the San Francisco Bay Area. She favors Russian Impressionism, which influenced all three of her mentors during their formative years as artists. Hanna's paintings are private collections in Montana and California.
